Description
Vivienne Westwood launches the 'Gainsborough Collection', a fine jewellery line made of precious Palladium. This collection which takes inspiration from the 'Paper jewellery' collection, was first introduced in the Gold Label Autumn-Winter 2000 collection and is a modern interpretation of the Trompe-l'œil drawings, which featured on the original paper jewellery. The collection emphasises the lustrous qualities of lightness and strength through the intricate design and delicate craftsmanship of the jewellery. Echoing the papier macher pieces of the early 2000s, the delicate lines form the outline of aristocratic bows and drops framing Westwood's iconic orb.
