Description
Triptolemus, the son of Titan Gods Oceanus and Gaea, was divinely gifted with the art of agriculture, and represented in Greek pottery riding a winged chariot and wearing a leaf wreath. Taking inspiration from these images, Vivienne Westwood presents for Autumn/Winter 2016-17 the Gold Alder Creepers as part of the Triptolemus collection inspired by Ancient Greece Mythology. Crafted from soft cipria suede and finished with a natural crepe creeper sole, this unisex lace up references the shape of the Brothel Creepers, a type of shoes adopted by Teddy Boys and Punks in the 60's and 70's, who wore them as part of their subversive style.
