Triptolemus, the son of Titan Gods Oceanus and Gaea, was divinely gifted with the art of agriculture, and represented in Greek pottery riding a winged chariot and wearing a leaf wreath. Taking inspiration from these images, Vivienne Westwood presents for Autumn/Winter 2016-17 the Aphrodite Beast Sandals as part of the Triptolemus collection, inspired by Ancient Greece Mythology. Crafted in soft cipria suede, these flattering sandals fasten with a patent leather strap at the ankle, featuring a gold leaf motif decoupage that delicately wrap up around the foot, sitting over an animal toe shaped, sleek platform.
